This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Oversee health, retirement, flexible spending, health savings, life insurance, and disability benefit plans in accordance with plan documentation.
• Act as a subject matter expert on benefits, providing training and assistance to the HR Service Center and HR teams.
• Address escalated and complex benefits-related issues.
• Review benefit administration processes and suggest enhancements.
• Manage and report on benefit deductions, 401(k) contributions, and payroll-related savings-plan transactions.
• Organize and implement open enrollment, which includes carrier coordination, plan modifications, employee communications, testing, and data validation.
• Collaborate with HRIS to ensure accurate benefit enrollment systems and reporting.
• Drive benefits communications and promotional initiatives.
• Document and refresh benefits procedures along with employee-facing intranet communications.
• Evaluate benefit offerings against industry trends, benchmarks, and employee feedback with the Benefits Director.
• Ensure adherence to ERISA, ACA, and COBRA regulations, including notices, disclosures, and reporting.
• Assist with other Benefits or HR projects and initiatives as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in Benefits Administration, including processes, reporting, communication, and support related to benefit plans.
• A minimum of 2 years of practical experience with HRIS and benefit enrollment systems; Workday experience preferred.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Capable of prioritizing tasks and demonstrating sound judgment and decision-making skills.
• Maintain confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism at all times.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey complex details clearly and concisely.
• Detail-oriented, capable of multitasking, and meeting critical deadlines.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and basic formulas.
