This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +2 more states.
• Oversee formulation and recipe management tasks for products within Nestlé Health Science.
• Create recipes and manage the lifecycle of product recipes using SAP.
• Assess, modify, and authorize specifications for finished products, ingredients, and components.
• Preserve formulation documentation, raw material specifications, product specifications, and product development activities in SAP RM and Formul@1.
• Ensure compliance with nutritional, safety, legal, and regulatory standards.
• Verify that new recipes align with manufacturing conditions.
• Streamline recipe complexity by simplifying, standardizing, and harmonizing formulations and ingredients.
• Coordinate Material and Recipe Management efforts across projects, including initiatives for new market rollouts.
• Lead compliance efforts for new product introductions.
• Collaborate with Global MRM, Nestlé Health Science, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Operations, and other functional teams on continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide training and support to new recipe specialists on Formul@1, SAP RM, CAT, and DevEx.
• Manage recipe support for both internal and external audits.
• Assist I&R and business maintenance projects through Compliance by Design.
• Conduct recipe reviews, including nutrient mass balance assessments following industrial trials, FOC, and SOC.
• Engage in system upgrade testing, knowledge transfers, and disseminate information to recipe specialists or other users.
• Maintain raw material specifications in SAP RM utilizing qualification testing data, routine testing data, and historical vendor information.
• Develop initial Site Recipes and ensure they align with the Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Lead the implementation of recipe management systems to facilitate the transfer and scaling of new product formulations.
• Enforce and ensure compliance with ingredient and recipe approval workflows at the factory level.
• Collaborate with NHS-MRM, Operations, and Regulatory networks on global or regional enhancement projects.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, Chemistry, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
• At least 4 years of experience in a regulated sector, such as food, pharmaceuticals, supplements, infant formula, pet food, or similar.
• Familiarity with FDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP, Quality Management Systems (QMS), and relevant food safety and quality regulations (21 CFR).
• Knowledge of ingredient functionality, formulation development, and food manufacturing processes.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Proficient in SAP, formulation management systems, specification management systems, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical data and make informed decisions.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• High attention to detail and dedication to data accuracy.
• Capability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a dynamic environment.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to forge partnerships across functions.
