This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +1 more state.
• Develop, uphold, and enforce comprehensive data governance policies, standards, and procedures across the enterprise.
• Define and document the structures for data ownership, stewardship, and accountability across various business domains.
• Establish and oversee data governance frameworks, councils, and working groups.
• Ensure that data is accurate, consistent, complete, secure, and compliant with regulations.
• Monitor and enhance data quality through profiling, validation, and remediation of issues.
• Identify, analyze, and address data defects and root causes in collaboration with data owners and stewards.
• Support initiatives related to master data management, metadata management, and reference data control.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory, legal, privacy, and security requirements.
• Implement and oversee controls regarding the handling, retention, classification, change management, and access management of sensitive data.
• Assist in internal and external audits, risk assessments, and remediation planning.
• Collaborate with legal, compliance, cybersecurity, and IT teams to manage data-related risks and vulnerabilities.
• Provide training and support to data owners, stewards, and end users.
• Maintain documentation concerning governance frameworks, policies, procedures, and data lineage.
• Investigate complex issues, resolve problems, and implement effective solutions.
• Translate data requirements into actionable governance solutions.
• Keep track of industry trends, emerging regulations, and best practices in data governance.
• Work in partnership with business stakeholders, data owners, IT, legal, compliance, and cybersecurity teams.
• Travel 10–20% for onsite implementations or enterprise solution integrations.
• Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in data governance, data management, or a related field.
• Graduate Degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Alternatively, a minimum of 10 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, SOX, and ITAR.
• Familiarity with industry standards like DAMA-DMBOK and DCAM.
• Experience in implementing data literacy programs.
• Background in data governance certifications or related compliance disciplines, including CDMP, DGSP, and CIPP.
• Proficiency with ERPs and enterprise software, including SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle, and CostPoint.
• Understanding of data architecture, data modeling, systems integration, and best practices in data management.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in an agile setting.
• Familiarity with data quality tools, data profiling, and data lineage analysis.
• Knowledge of cloud data platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and detail-oriented skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• 10–20% travel is required.
• Capability to support onsite implementation of governance frameworks or enterprise solution integrations.
