This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +5 more states.
• Define, maintain, and enhance business metadata, which encompasses data definitions, classifications, and lineage throughout the organization.
• Monitor and evaluate data quality by analyzing metrics, identifying issues or anomalies, and engaging in remediation and root-cause analysis.
• Support and uphold data governance policies, standards, and established usage guidelines.
• Assist in maintaining stewardship workflows, including approvals, reviews, critical data elements, and updates to documentation.
• Collaborate with both business and technical teams to clarify definitions, tackle data issues, and ensure alignment on data requirements and business rules.
• Lead or participate in cross-functional data governance forums to address data challenges, promote consistency, and facilitate domain-level alignment.
• Contribute to governance reporting and metrics, capturing quality trends, domain risks, metadata completeness, and the status of stewardship activities.
• Support audit, compliance, and regulatory requirements by ensuring documentation is accurate, accessible, and in line with enterprise standards.
• Propose and implement enhancements to data processes, standards, definitions, and stewardship practices.
• Advocate for data governance and data literacy by offering guidance, education, and leadership to elevate organizational data management maturity.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and professional experience.
• A Master's degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Familiarity with data governance policies, standards, and processes.
• Experience with business metadata, including data definitions, classifications, and lineage.
• Proven experience in monitoring and evaluating data quality, including metrics, issues, anomalies, remediation, and root-cause analysis.
• Experience in supporting data stewardship workflows, approvals, reviews, critical data elements, and documentation.
• Ability to work collaboratively with business and technical teams on data requirements and business rules.
• Experience with governance reporting and metrics.
• Understanding of audit, compliance, and regulatory obligations pertaining to data.
• Capability to recommend and implement enhancements to data processes, standards, definitions, and stewardship practices.
