Senior Solutions Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the complete technical pre-sales process, which includes discovery, alignment of scope, gap analysis, and designing solutions until the deal is signed and delivery is handed over.

• Design payment solutions within Zepto's API and product range, encompassing payment initiation, PayTo/PayID, direct debit, disbursements, reconciliation, and webhooks.

• Facilitate technical workshops and demonstrations for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Manage the technical components of RFPs, RFIs, and tenders.

• Serve as the technical representative during the sales process, addressing inquiries related to APIs, integration methods, compliance, and security.

• Create sandbox integrations and test API workflows to ensure feasibility.

• Relay merchant requirements and competitive gaps to inform the product roadmap.

• Assist in the technical handover for delivery and ensure a successful customer go-live.

• Collaborate effectively with engineering, product, sales, commercial, and customer success teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in pre-sales, solutions engineering, or solution architecture.

• Proven expertise in payments, including knowledge of payment rails, gateways, settlement, and reconciliation.

• Ideally, familiarity with the Australian payments ecosystem (NPP, PayTo, PayID, BECS, card schemes) or equivalent international experience.

• Proficient in reading API documentation, constructing and debugging REST calls, interpreting JSON, and understanding webhook and event-driven patterns.

• Demonstrated history in technical pre-sales, including discovery, integration scoping, delivering presentations to technical and executive audiences, and responding to tenders.

• A tertiary qualification in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience gained through at least 3 years of hands-on work with code, APIs, or technical systems.

• Strong project management capabilities.

• Ability to work independently and manage ambiguity with ease.
