This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Convert intricate healthcare business requirements into scalable, production-ready data solutions.
• Partner with various departments to comprehend user requirements, develop technical designs, validate solutions through rapid prototypes, and create data assets.
• Enhance and clarify solution features based on user feedback.
• Deconstruct complex features, identify potential risks, and highlight dependencies.
• Develop and refine data pipelines utilizing cloud technologies like Azure ADF and Databricks.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs that expose curated healthcare datasets and analytical products.
• Generate Power BI/Tableau dashboards and semantic models that provide actionable insights.
• Collaborate with claims, clinical, and operational healthcare datasets.
• Ingest, transform, and standardize HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, CPT, NDC, and related healthcare terminologies.
• Work alongside data engineers, data scientists, and analysts to operationalize solutions.
• Ensure compliance with data quality, performance, scalability, and security standards.
• Offer technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and analysts.
• Assist in stakeholder demonstrations, feedback sessions, and solution presentations.
• Collaborate with IT, clinical, operational, vendor, and consulting teams.
• Undertake additional job-related tasks as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Over 5 years of experience working with healthcare data in data engineering, analytics engineering, or solutions engineering roles.
• Previous experience with claims and clinical datasets in payer and/or provider settings.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms; Azure is preferred, while AWS or GCP are also acceptable.
• Prior experience in building and maintaining APIs, including REST, JSON, and authentication methods.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare data standards and models, including HL7, FHIR, ICD, CPT, and SNOMED.
• Proficient in SQL and at least one programming language such as Python or Scala.
• Proven experience in creating Power BI/Tableau dashboards, data models, and reports.
• Demonstrated capability to build prototypes, solicit feedback, and iteratively refine solutions.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, or data platform automation is preferred.
• An advanced degree is preferred.
• Previous experience in a healthcare services, payer, or provider organization is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks, including Spark, notebooks, Delta Lake, and workflows is preferred.
• Experience with healthcare integration engines such as Rhapsody or Mirth is preferred.
• Prior experience with data governance, HIPAA compliance, and handling of PHI is preferred.
