This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +6 more states.
• Spearhead the technical and consumption strategies for the organization's most intricate customer engagements.
• Maintain and cultivate senior-level technical relationships while providing guidance on enterprise data and AI strategies.
• Direct complex architecture initiatives that encompass multi-workload platforms, enterprise-wide migrations, real-time systems, and large-scale AI/ML implementations.
• Function as a specialist on the Databricks Platform with a defined archetype.
• Guide and mentor team members, fostering horizontal impact across the organization.
• Formulate and implement competitive strategies that position Databricks favorably against both established and emerging platforms.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, including DSAs, SSAs, partners, and product groups.
• Train and develop junior SAs in technical proficiency, customer interaction, and use case prioritization.
• Contribute to thought leadership within Field Engineering through customer-facing content, workshops, and community involvement.
• Over 8 years of experience in solutions architecture, principal engineering, technical pre-sales leadership, or a senior technical role with customer interaction.
• Advanced coding skills in Python, SQL, and preferably Spark/PySpark.
• Successful completion of a live coding assessment and platform build as part of the interview process.
• Extensive knowledge in enterprise data architecture, including scalable distributed systems, streaming/real-time processing, lakehouse design patterns, data governance frameworks, and cloud-native platforms.
• In-depth expertise of the Databricks Platform or equivalent proficiency in competing platforms with a demonstrated capacity for rapid learning.
• Clearly defined technical specialization with recognized depth.
• Proven success in driving consumption growth and platform adoption within large accounts.
• Capability to influence Directors, VPs, and C-level executives regarding long-term data and AI strategies.
• Experience in leading competitive displacements and complex enterprise evaluations.
• Strong strategic thinking skills that connect technical architecture decisions to business outcomes and revenue implications.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a quantitative discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
