Senior Solution Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the technical growth strategy for a selection of Telco and FSI clients in Malaysia.

• Discover new workloads, use cases, and business lines to implement Snowflake.

• Align business goals with Snowflake-driven solutions that enhance consumption and platform retention.

• Showcase Snowflake's technology and vision to both executives and technical teams.

• Illustrate and convey Snowflake’s value throughout the sales process, from demonstrations to proof of concept, design, and implementation.

• Keep abreast of competitive and complementary technologies and vendors.

• Facilitate technical discovery sessions with architects, data leaders, and domain stakeholders.

• Develop and present target-state architectures, reference patterns, and roadmaps for data consolidation, analytics, data science and AI, as well as data sharing/monetization.

• Coordinate internal specialists, Professional Services, and partners to implement expansion strategies.

• Provide guidance on data residency, security, governance, and regulatory requirements for FSI and Telco clients.

• Create and repurpose industry-specific solution patterns, demonstrations, and assets.

• Design and present customer-tailored demonstrations and technical narratives.

• Lead and manage POCs/Pilots, establishing success criteria and joint execution plans.

• Convert complex technical features into business value and return on investment.

• Assist customers with data modeling, performance optimization, cost governance, security, and Snowflake operations.

• Offer advice on migration strategies from legacy systems and evaluate architectural and implementation decisions.

• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, Professional Services, Product, Partners, SIs, ISVs, and cloud collaborators.

• Communicate field insights to Product and Engineering teams.

• Represent Snowflake at workshops, executive briefings, industry events, and community gatherings.

• Generate technical content, reference architectures, playbooks, and demonstrations.

• Mentor junior SEs and contribute to best practices within the regional SE community.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role (Solutions Engineer, Pre-Sales Architect, Data Architect, or similar) within the data/analytics or cloud domain.

• Strong hands-on experience with cloud data platforms, data warehousing, or big data technologies (e.g., Snowflake, SQL data warehouses, Hadoop/Spark, cloud-native data services).

• Proficient in SQL and experienced with one or more programming languages frequently used in data/analytics (e.g., Python).

• Proven capability to design and articulate architectures for data integration, warehousing, BI/analytics, and data science/ML workloads.

• Industry experience or substantial exposure in FSI and/or Telco sectors.

• Demonstrated success in achieving technical wins and growth in enterprise accounts, preferably within a subscription or consumption-based model.

• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, comfortable engaging both technical teams and senior business/IT executives.

• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic, high-growth environment, managing multiple complex opportunities concurrently.

• Based in Malaysia, with the capability to travel within the region as necessary.

• Practical experience with Snowflake or comparable cloud-native data platforms, including data ingestion & transformation, performance optimization & cost governance, and security, data masking, and governance (preferred).

• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP, and their data/analytics ecosystems (preferred).

• Awareness of regulatory and compliance frameworks relevant to FSI and Telco, including data residency and Bank Negara Malaysia guidelines (preferred).

• Experience with Tableau, Power BI, Looker, and/or data science & ML frameworks (preferred).

• Previous experience in a field pre-sales role at a data platform, cloud provider, or analytics/AI company (preferred).
