Senior Solution Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Create comprehensive architectures for enterprise applications, cloud platforms, and distributed backend systems.

• Establish system-level architectures that encompass services, APIs, integrations, and data storage solutions.

• Ensure systems are highly available, scalable, performant, and cost-efficient.

• Make and document architectural choices, including trade-off analyses and technology selections.

• Design cloud-native and hybrid solutions that span compute, networking, storage, and identity.

• Develop data flows and integration patterns, including event-driven and streaming architectures.

• Define methodologies for CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, and operational readiness.

• Lead the modernization and migration of legacy systems.

• Provide architectural guidance to engineering teams working on client projects.

• Set best practices for system design, security, integration, observability, and reliability.

• Conduct architecture and design evaluations while mentoring engineers.

• Collaborate with backend, data, frontend, and DevOps teams effectively.

• Work with client stakeholders to convert business requirements into technical architectures.

• Steer technical decisions and project scoping during planning and execution.

• Stay updated on advancements in distributed systems, cloud platforms, and software architecture.

• Identify opportunities to enhance scalability, resilience, and efficiency.

• Contribute to the internal knowledge base and architectural standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in software engineering, distributed systems, or backend architecture.

• At least 5 years in an architect or senior technical leadership role, responsible for end-to-end system design.

• Proven experience in architecting large-scale, production-grade software systems.

• In-depth understanding of microservices, distributed systems, API design, and integration methodologies.

• Strong programming proficiency in Python, Java, C#, C++, or similar languages.

• Experience designing systems within cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.

• Solid understanding of data modeling, data pipelines, and both relational and non-relational data stores.

• Working knowledge of security, performance, observability, and cost as fundamental architectural priorities.

• Exceptional skills in system design, problem-solving, and technical leadership.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Experience in client-facing consulting or professional services environments, designing enterprise-scale systems.

• Background in supporting pre-sales activities: solution shaping, technical proposals, and delivery estimation.

• Experience in modernizing or replatforming legacy systems within large enterprises.

• Familiarity with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Pulumi) and platform engineering practices.

• Experience designing systems under regulatory or compliance constraints (SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR, PCI DSS).

• Experience with high-throughput or low-latency systems, or systems-level and native engineering.

• Relevant certifications (AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or equivalent).
