Senior Software Systems Engineer – Web Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Switzerland.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and manage highly scalable web security services.

• Create dependable, cloud-native solutions that function at a global level.

• Enhance observability, monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational excellence across web security services.

• Take full ownership from the technical concept and implementation through to production and continuous improvement.

• Work collaboratively with engineers from networking, security, cloud, and platform teams.

• Contribute to the development of web security and cloud-delivered security services.

• Achieve certification as a Mission Control Engineer and manage a wide array of network and security technologies.

• Participate in three-month assignments at the Network Operations Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, alongside engineers managing global security infrastructure.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Strong grasp of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, HTTP, and HTTPS.

• Practical experience with Linux/UNIX-based systems.

• Familiarity with cloud-native and containerized environments.

• Robust software engineering skills.

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash.

• Experience with compiled programming languages like Go, C++, or Rust.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.

• Proficient in English.

• Experience with web security technologies, proxies, or Secure Web Gateway (SWG) solutions.

• Understanding of contemporary security architectures, Zero Trust, or SASE.

• Experience with observability, monitoring, and troubleshooting in production environments.

• Familiarity with software and system testing methodologies.

• Experience in managing globally deployed services in production.
