This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Lead a team of skilled engineers to achieve strategic objectives that are in line with the services, features, and functionalities of core products.
• Oversee the planning, execution, and communication associated with appliance releases.
• Identify and implement enhancements to release processes, tools, methodologies, customer-facing interfaces, and overall operations.
• Utilize extensive technical knowledge to steer the architecture and strategic direction of appliance software and internal tools.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, customer success, sales, and support teams to synchronize release schedules and priorities.
• Monitor the health and performance of Envysion connected devices used by customers, recognize trends, and address issues swiftly.
• Manage software and QA engineers to achieve established objectives.
• Oversee cross-border hybrid and remote engineering teams, balancing asynchronous workflows with real-time collaboration.
• Demonstrated experience as a Team Lead, Engineering Manager, Release Manager, or a comparable role in cloud-managed video solutions.
• Proven successful leadership of software and QA engineering teams.
• Over 8 years of practical software development experience.
• At least 4 years of experience in leadership or people management.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Proficiency with relational databases, JavaScript, C++, and React.
• Understanding of build systems, CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies, specifically AWS, and RESTful APIs is advantageous.
• Knowledge of video streaming technologies like HLS.
• Working knowledge of AI inference engines such as YOLO and OpenCV.
• Experience in utilizing AI tools and identifying AI-driven opportunities in software development processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a focus on root cause analysis and prevention.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
• Capacity to collaborate across various departments and manage distributed cross-border teams.
• Keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, stable releases.
• Experience with surveillance video camera hardware is a plus.
• Familiarity with physical access control systems or security products is beneficial.
• Knowledge of Tableau or QuickSight is an added advantage.
• Experience with customization of the Linux OS, kernel updates, disk storage management, filesystem resiliency, hardware test labs, physical test rig automation, test bench setup, and camera/sensor interoperability testing is a plus.
• Target base salary ranging from $155,000 CAD to $175,000 CAD.
