Engineering Manager, Treasury

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +7 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the Treasury engineering pod

• Provide financial infrastructure for nonprofit organizations

• Enhance engineering practices while developing a team of proficient engineers

• Write code, review pull requests, make architectural decisions, monitor production systems, and engage in incident management

• Report directly to the VP of Engineering

• Implement the product vision and cultivate a scalable engineering culture

• Ensure timely delivery of exceptional user experiences without sacrificing security, design, or performance

• Collaborate with the VP of Engineering on the Treasury engineering strategy

• Lead, manage, and mentor full-stack engineers focused on developing Givebutter Wallet features, payment tools, and financial dashboards

• Take ownership of the Treasury engineering function and define its technical direction

• Create same-day ACH transfer tools, card issuing systems, and QuickBooks integrations

• Build and sustain financial infrastructure that allows nonprofits to earn rewards on funds and expedite their financial activities

• Optimize the financial architecture and technology stack for security, reliability, and scalability

• Enhance internal engineering workflows and improve best practices

• Advocate for code quality and maintainable, scalable solutions

• Assess and implement AI and machine learning tools in the development of financial products

⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in full-stack development

• Proficiency in modern web technologies, including React, JavaScript, TypeScript, and PHP/Laravel

• Practical experience in designing and developing scalable financial or fintech systems

• Familiarity with payment processing, ACH, card issuing, or accounting integrations

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience leading a team of 5 or more engineers

• Strong comprehension of financial compliance, security requirements, and data integrity within regulated settings

• Proven track record in people management and mentorship

• Demonstrated success in recruiting and developing remote engineering teams

• Experience in a product-led growth environment is highly desirable

• Legally authorized to work in the United States

• Must actively engage with the codebase through coding, code reviews, collaboration, and prototyping
