Risk Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee a team of multiline and/or property field engineers, ensuring adherence to quality control standards.

• Ensure production objectives and turnaround times are met or surpassed as per established targets.

• Conduct joint field visits alongside field engineers to provide guidance and maintain quality control.

• Manage the selection of subcontractors, their assignments, deadlines, and the quality of their reports.

• Develop and track risk improvement service plans for major accounts, concentrating on significant loss sources.

• Obtain quotes for specialized services related to Industrial Hygiene, significant chemical property risks, and Ergonomics.

• Work collaboratively with management and the Director of Risk Engineering.

• Attend monthly Underwriting meetings and deliver compliance recommendation reports.

• Ensure uniform service delivery across all sites within multi-location accounts.

• Advocate for the effective use of loss data systems and Risk Engineering services among producers and potential accounts.

• Supervise a team of five, including responsibilities for interviewing, hiring, training, task assignments, performance evaluations, rewards, discipline, and conflict resolution.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor of Science degree from a four-year college or university is mandatory.

• A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in insurance and general industry loss prevention is required.

• At least 3-5 years of prior supervisory or management experience is necessary.

• Proficient understanding of sprinkler plan reviews, Life Safety Codes (NFPA 101), NFPA 13, and Factory Mutual guidelines.

• Extensive experience in assessing complex risks, particularly in the chemical and automotive industries, as well as moderate to large-sized industrial or warehousing operations.
