This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the design and implementation of backend systems focused on cost basis tracking, gain/loss calculation, withholding automation, and tax reporting infrastructure.

• Develop pipelines for broker reporting, automated withholding, and clearing integrations with partners as Coinbase ventures into equities, margin, and options.

• Collaborate with Product, Design, Tax, Trading, and Positions teams to navigate ambiguous challenges from initial scoping to production rollout.

• Foster a scalable tax architecture that allows new product launches to leverage shared primitives without the need for custom rework.

• Enhance engineering quality through design reviews, code evaluations, and providing technical mentorship.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in backend software engineering, developing and managing production systems with high-quality, thoroughly tested code.

• Solid understanding of distributed systems principles.

• Proven experience in designing high-throughput services and data pipelines where accuracy is paramount.

• Demonstrated ability to manage complex systems from inception to production operation in rapidly evolving environments.

• Capable of collaborating with product, design, and cross-functional teams to transform vague requirements into deliverable solutions.

• Employs generative AI judiciously, ensuring human oversight to produce business-ready outputs and achieve measurable enhancements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
