Senior Software Engineer, Search & Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the entire company and people search process, encompassing data ingestion, transformation, querying, ranking, and relevance.

• Enhance the reliability and relevance of the current search system.

• Gradually rebuild the search system as needed over time.

• Design and develop search functionalities such as identifying high-growth companies, highlighting recent job changers, and matching specific company profiles.

• Collaborate with the CTO and engineering team to make long-term architectural decisions regarding search and data scalability.

• Create search agents utilizing LLMs to enhance the intelligence and usefulness of results.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5 or more years of experience in software engineering, including leading or owning search projects from start to finish.

• Hands-on experience in production environments with Elasticsearch or a comparable engine like Lucene or Solr.

• A keen interest in search technologies, data, and LLMs.

• Outstanding problem-solving abilities.

• Capability to deliver quickly in a fast-paced startup environment.

• Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of a specific domain.

• Preferred: experience with entity resolution and de-duplication.

• Preferred: strong skills in UX and usability.

• Preferred: production experience with Postgres.

• Preferred: production experience with vector search and semantic retrieval.

• Preferred: proficiency in Node.js / TypeScript.
