Senior Software Engineer, Python Backend – Platform and Architecture

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Enhance system architecture by evaluating impacts on scalability, maintainability, cost, and reliability.

• Design, develop, and improve APIs, integrations, and components utilized by various products and teams.

• Discover optimization opportunities across applications, databases, and integrations.

• Engage in technical decision-making regarding architecture, development standards, and the evolution of technology.

• Collaborate with Cloud/SRE teams to enhance availability, observability, security, and operations.

• Analyze and resolve intricate production issues by identifying root causes and implementing structural enhancements.

• Contribute to improving the developer experience by minimizing friction and boosting engineering productivity.

• Advocate for engineering best practices, code quality, automated testing, and sustainable development.

• Share expertise, provide technical support to fellow engineers, and elevate the team’s technical proficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong backend development experience with Python and frameworks like Django and/or FastAPI.

• Practical experience in building and evolving APIs and production systems.

• Understanding of system design and the assessment of architectural solutions, including trade-offs.

• Experience with distributed systems, service integrations, scalability, and reliability.

• Proficient in performance analysis, troubleshooting, and evolving critical systems.

• Familiarity with relational databases, data modeling, query optimization, and data persistence.

• Experience with automated unit, integration, and/or end-to-end testing.

• Knowledge of architectural patterns, development principles, and engineering best practices.

• Experience with Git, version control, and collaborative coding.

• Excellent communication skills for discussing technical decisions and collaborating with various departments.

• A collaborative mindset with the ability to influence decisions and contribute to the team's development.

• Nice to have: experience with microservices architecture; Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies; Redis or similar technologies; Docker; CI/CD; AWS, GCP, or Azure; Kubernetes; Terraform or infrastructure as code; observability tools with logs, metrics, tracing, Datadog, Grafana, or similar tools; experience working on platform, architecture, or Developer Experience teams.
