Senior Java Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Design and build high-load, distributed backend services for financial operations.

• Work on essential payment flows, callbacks, reconciliation, and management of the transaction lifecycle.

• Engage in architecture discussions and contribute to system design choices.

• Implement observability across services, encompassing logging, metrics, and distributed tracing.

• Enhance system reliability, fault tolerance, and overall resilience of the platform.

• Promote code quality, testing strategies, and engineering best practices throughout the team.

• Participate in the platform's evolution towards AI-assisted and data-driven functionalities.

• Collaborate closely with Product, DevOps, and Architecture teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of robust, production-level Java experience.

• In-depth knowledge of the Spring Boot ecosystem.

• Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture.

• Experience in building high-load or financial systems, including payments, banking, or fintech.

• Excellent skills in REST API design.

• Practical experience with messaging systems.

• Proficient SQL skills; familiarity with PostgreSQL is preferred.

• Knowledge of cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools.

• Comfortable working asynchronously within a distributed, international team.

• Possess a Clean Code mindset, emphasizing SOLID principles, maintainability, and true ownership.

• Preference for experience in Open Banking or regulated payments environments.

• Experience with Camunda or other workflow orchestration engines is preferred.

• Understanding of PCI DSS compliance requirements is preferred.

• Experience with event-driven or event-sourcing architectures is preferred.

• Interest or practical experience with AI/ML applied to backend systems is preferred.
