Senior Software Engineer – Payments, Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the development of the premier enterprise restaurant technology platform, including POS systems, kiosks, and digital ordering solutions.

• Take ownership of our payment narrative by creating integrations that facilitate transactions and establishing a data platform that ensures transaction visibility and reconciliation for our merchants.

• Develop and sustain payment integrations with Payment Service Providers (PSPs) across both card-present (EMV terminal) and card-not-present (hosted/online) channels.

• Manage terminal-to-cloud payment processes, including device initialization, transaction handling, Store & Forward, and webhook-based reconciliation.

• Act as a subject matter expert for the entire payment stack, covering everything from terminal hardware to gateway and settlement.

• Create the reconciliation platform (both UI and back-end) that aligns POS transactions with PSP settlement and payout records, highlighting any discrepancies.

• Design matching engines and data pipelines that process settlement files, standardize records, and categorize exceptions.

• Develop payment analytics dashboards and reports tailored for merchant back-office users.

• Convert business requirements into effective solutions; guide engineers; keep documentation and runbooks updated.

• Engage in code reviews and promote code quality throughout payment services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in software development with significant exposure to payments or financial data.

• More than 5 years of experience in C# / .NET for building APIs and microservices.

• Practical experience with PSP integration, including gateway APIs, terminal APIs, management APIs, and webhook notifications.

• Expertise in EMV terminal integration, covering device pairing, transaction processes, certification, and in-store troubleshooting.

• Comprehensive understanding of payment domain concepts such as acquirers, issuers, settlement (gross/net), chargebacks, PCI DSS, tokenization, PAR, and the differences between authorization and capture, along with Store & Forward.

• Experience in creating data reporting UIs (using Vue.js, Angular, or React) that present financial information to non-technical users.

• Background in data reconciliation logic, including cross-system matching, discrepancy identification, and exception classification.

• Familiarity with AWS services including ECS, SQS, DynamoDB, RDS, CloudWatch, and Parameter Store.

• Proficiency in MongoDB and SQL databases.

• Experience with Elasticsearch or similar tools for querying transaction data.

• Knowledge of Git, Azure DevOps Pipelines, Docker, and Terraform.
