Senior Software Engineer – Partner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Establish team objectives, align proposed tasks with goals, and manage prioritization.

• Create and execute intricate technical solutions that are in line with the company's strategic vision.

• Shape engineering standards and guidelines throughout the broader engineering community.

• Assume accountability for technical decisions within the team across various technologies.

• Oversee substantial technical features from conception to completion.

• Make knowledgeable trade-offs between advancement and refinement.

• Offer technical guidance to the squad.

• Actively address technical debt and simplify services and processes.

• Cultivate a comprehensive understanding of UW’s multi-service business model.

• Facilitate conversations on how the squad's efforts align with the company's strategy.

• Mentor engineers through collaborative coding and code reviews.

• Manage complex projects and explore uncharted territories.

• Develop platforms and services that support UW’s Partner initiative.

• Create scalable and reliable systems utilizing Go, Postgres, Kafka, and Kubernetes.

• Manage deployments end-to-end within the team's Kubernetes namespaces.

• Enhance lead routing, partner onboarding, and Partner business-management experiences.

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers in self-sufficient teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive backend-focused software engineering experience.

• Demonstrated proficiency with Postgres, Kafka, and Kubernetes.

• Significant experience in building distributed systems, including concurrency and event-driven architectures.

• Strong grasp of system resilience, observability, uptime, SLAs, and progressive degradation.

• Capability to deliver comprehensive solutions from design to build, deployment, and ongoing support.

• Experience with CI/CD tools, Terraform, and contemporary cloud workflows.

• Familiarity with Kafka and database migrations, such as CockroachDB to RDS, is advantageous.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.

• Capacity to excel in an agile, iterative setting while delivering continuous feature enhancements.

• Experience in mentoring mid-level engineers and exemplifying engineering best practices.

• Comfort in working within autonomous, product-driven teams.

• Hands-on experience with AI development tools.

• Experience with Go is preferred, though not mandatory.

• Successful candidates will undergo a background check.
