Senior Software Engineer – Node.js, Python

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Develop the backend and AI systems that drive the growth of electric motorcycle manufacturer Stark Future SL

• Serve as the primary developer for AI-driven solutions

• Operationalize Python-based AI tools within Node.js and Python backends

• Design, create, and maintain web services and APIs using Python, Node.js, or other specialized technology stacks

• Uphold coding standards to ensure clean, stable, concise, and extensible code

• Diagnose, debug, and swiftly resolve production issues

• Collaborate with AI, product, front-end, QA, DevOps, and external partner teams

• Make strategic architecture decisions that balance scalability, performance, and maintainability

• Assess industry trends and propose product-level enhancements

• Mentor both new and existing team members

• Manage and prioritize the technical backlog

• Keep technical documentation up to date and facilitate team communication in English

• Enhance workflows and contribute to an open, feedback-oriented team culture

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in designing, building, and operating production web services

• Strong grasp of Computer Science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, complexity, and concurrency

• Extensive background in distributed systems

• Proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, and at least one server framework such as Express or NestJS

• Experience in creating and maintaining production-quality RESTful APIs

• Deep understanding of API versioning, authentication, rate limiting, and pagination patterns

• Expertise in scalable architecture patterns, including microservices, event-driven systems, and CQRS

• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines

• Strong SQL skills, covering schema design, indexing, migrations, and performance tuning

• Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL

• Excellent problem-solving capabilities

• Proficient in English

• Possess a growth mindset; embrace feedback, continuous learning, documentation, and knowledge sharing

• Nice to have: experience deploying services on AWS, including Lambda, ECS/EKS, RDS, SQS, and CloudWatch

• Nice to have: proficiency in Python and Python server backends

• Nice to have: end-to-end technical project experience

• Nice to have: familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
