Senior Software Engineer, MLOps

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and manage the online feature store — the real-time serving layer that provides ML features to production models with minimal latency and robust consistency assurances.

• Construct and oversee data pipelines (both batch and streaming) that compute, validate, and publish features from source systems into both online and offline stores.

• Focus on the data models and Postgres schemas that support real-time feature serving, optimizing for query efficiency, freshness, and scalability.

• Serve as a technical leader for the feature store infrastructure; drive enhancements in quality, scalability, reliability, and observability for the systems that ML models rely on.

• Collaborate closely with our Data Science, Analytics Engineering, Product Management, and Application Development teams to convert business requirements into production-ready engineering solutions.

• Play a role in mentoring junior engineers.

• Contribute to best practices and elevate standards through careful code reviews and input in technical design discussions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of software development experience, emphasizing backend systems (Python is essential) and 2-3 years of MLOps expertise.

• Extensive experience with relational databases (Postgres preferred) — including schema design, query optimization, and managing databases under production conditions.

• Proven experience in building and managing real-time inference systems.

• Knowledge of the specific reliability and accuracy requirements of ML-serving infrastructure (data freshness, training/serving skew, feature consistency).

• Familiarity with multi-service architectures and design patterns.

• Experience working in Agile software development environments.

• Generally possesses a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
