Senior Software Engineer – Microsoft

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance AidenBot, the primary automation engine for the client's Windows endpoint management platform.

• Design, implement, test, and sustain production software utilizing C# and .NET.

• Participate in technical design and architecture, focusing on interfaces, patterns, trade-offs, and documentation.

• Provide product capabilities from refinement and estimation through to implementation, code reviews, testing, deployment support, and post-release insights.

• Identify and resolve intricate defects and production challenges across application code, services, integrations, data flows, and Windows endpoint environments.

• Enhance engineering quality through testable code, reviews, automated testing, observability, secure development practices, and source control.

• Collaborate with and mentor engineers through design reviews, pairing, documentation, and guidance on implementation.

• Leverage AI-assisted engineering and agentic workflows while ensuring quality, security, governance, and release reliability.

• Create endpoint platform and Bot functionalities focusing on correctness, security, performance, supportability, and rollback readiness.

• Enhance the maintainability, testability, extensibility, troubleshooting, and operability of the codebase.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8-10+ years of professional software development experience, with significant hands-on experience in building and supporting production applications using C# and .NET.

• Strong grasp of software architecture, object-oriented design, APIs, asynchronous processing, data access, integration patterns, and maintainable application design.

• Prior experience in architecting and developing Windows-based solutions is essential.

• Proven ability to translate complex features from vague requirements through technical design, implementation, testing, release, and production support.

• Proficiency in diagnosing challenging software issues using logs, metrics, traces, debuggers, profilers, and systematic root-cause analysis.

• Experience with unit, integration, and automated testing; code reviews; source control; CI/CD; and dependable release practices.

• Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL, encompassing data modeling, query performance, and application-level data access.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams and with Azure DevOps, GitHub, or similar tools.

• Experience with Windows PE and Endpoint Manager is essential.

• Familiarity with Power BI, building images, and Microsoft Intune.

• Knowledge of Windows system internals, Windows PE, .NET/C#, design patterns, SDLC, and scalability.

• Some experience with front-end frameworks is a plus.
