Senior Software Engineer, Microsoft

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance AidenBot, the primary automation engine for the client's Windows endpoint management platform.

• Define technical architecture and produce secure, dependable software using C# and .NET.

• Design, create, test, and maintain production software with an emphasis on reliability, security, performance, and maintainability.

• Contribute to the technical design and architecture by assessing trade-offs, defining interfaces and patterns, documenting decisions, and advancing the platform.

• Implement product capabilities from refinement and estimation through to implementation, code review, automated testing, deployment support, and post-release evaluation.

• Identify and resolve intricate defects and production challenges across application code, services, integrations, data flows, and Windows endpoint environments.

• Enhance engineering quality through clear, testable code, code reviews, automated test coverage, observability, secure development practices, and disciplined source control.

• Collaborate technically and mentor engineers through context sharing, design reviews, pairing, and implementation guidance.

• Leverage AI-assisted engineering and agentic workflows while maintaining code quality, security, governance, and release reliability.

• Develop capabilities for the endpoint software platform that are predictable and adhere to standards for correctness, security, performance, supportability, and rollback readiness.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8-10+ years of professional experience in software development, including significant hands-on experience in building and supporting production applications using C# and .NET.

• A solid understanding of software architecture, object-oriented design, APIs, asynchronous processing, data access, integration patterns, and maintainable application design.

• Prior experience in architecting and developing a Windows-based solution is essential.

• Proven ability to transform complex features from ambiguous requirements through technical design, implementation, testing, release, and production support.

• Experience in diagnosing challenging software issues using logs, metrics, traces, debuggers, profilers, and systematic root-cause analysis.

• Familiarity with unit, integration, and automated testing; code review; source control; CI/CD; and reliable release practices.

• Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL, including data modeling, query performance, and application-level data access.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience in Agile/Scrum teams and familiarity with Azure DevOps, GitHub, or similar systems.

• Comfort in operating within a smaller, high-accountability growth company.

• Experience with Windows PE and Endpoint Manager is required.

• Preferred experience with BIOS, partitioning, Windows Registry, Windows internals, PowerShell, Microsoft cloud technologies, endpoint administration, cloud services, distributed systems, messaging, REST APIs, authentication/authorization, third-party integrations, high-volume job orchestration, and AI-assisted development tools.

• Experience with Power BI, building Windows images, and Microsoft Intune is valued.

• Some understanding of SQL; a strong grasp of .NET, C#, and design patterns; some familiarity with front-end frameworks is advantageous; good understanding of SDLC and scalability.
