Senior Software Engineer – Marketing Technology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee comprehensive projects within the Segmentation & Insights Platform team.

• Enhance backend systems to ensure high availability, low latency, and observability, managing over 100k requests per second.

• Identify and resolve bottlenecks while optimizing systems to meet increasing demand.

• Develop proactive features for Airbnb’s autonomous Marketing Growth Engine, focusing on campaign ideation and enhancement.

• Direct the technical design, implementation, testing, experimentation, and deployment processes.

• Collaborate with teams from Product, Design, Data, Marketing Operations, and other stakeholders.

• Work alongside engineering teams in Marketing Technology to create cohesive systems.

• Provide guidance to Airbnb teams regarding use cases, integrations, and service uptake.

• Engage in on-call rotations, incident management, and post-mortem analyses.

• Leverage AI tools effectively while ensuring quality, accuracy, and the long-term health of systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering.

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.

• Proficient in backend systems featuring large-scale service-oriented architectures.

• Experience in developing agentic systems or applications powered by LLMs.

• Skilled in one or more modern programming languages such as Go, Rust, Java, or Kotlin.

• Excellent communication abilities with experience in leading initiatives across teams, organizations, and leadership levels.

• Must reside in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has established a registered entity.
