Senior Software Engineer, Layer1

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Engage with customers, product management, and hardware engineers to create innovative Layer1 features.

• Design, architect, and oversee the development of Layer1 functionalities.

• Create and sustain features utilizing C, C++, and Python.

• Review and contribute to functional and design specifications.

• Develop automated tests and testing infrastructure.

• Collaborate with hardware and manufacturing teams to launch PHYs and transceivers to the market.

• Work alongside hardware engineers on software control interfaces for Layer1 components.

• Offer technical leadership across features, projects, and tools.

• Collaborate with Customer Support Engineers and customers to analyze, mitigate, and resolve issues in customer networks.

• Investigate system-test issues and deliver solutions.

• Mentor new and junior engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering, along with 8 years of relevant experience, or equivalent work experience.

• Proficient knowledge of C or C++ and Python.

• Familiarity with UNIX or Linux operating systems.

• Practical understanding of software engineering principles.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in software development.

• Capability to design solutions and implement features independently.

• Ability to collaborate effectively within small teams.

• Knowledge of digital communication technologies, such as modulation and signal encoding schemes, is a plus.

• Understanding of IP networking and/or distributed systems is advantageous.

• Experience with low-level hardware components is beneficial.
