Senior Software Engineer – Java Cloud

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs for the Health100 AI-native health technology platform.

• Ensure that releases are well-coordinated, thoroughly prepared, and successfully deployed to production.

• Collaborate with technical leaders and the open-source community on technical designs, frameworks, roadmap definition, and requirements gathering.

• Offer domain knowledge and engineering insights to guide initial designs and technical execution.

• Uphold engineering excellence and construct reliable distributed systems.

• Manage the transition from prototype to production for features.

• Work together with business, product, architecture, security, digital, and engineering teams.

• Engage in automation initiatives and support high-performing remote teams.

• Oversee production monitoring, issue triage, coordination across teams, and drive operational excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of Java development experience, particularly with Spring Boot and/or Spring MVC.

• Proficiency in working with cloud platforms such as GCP and Azure.

• Experience in managing end-to-end DevOps pipelines.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in the development and maintenance of RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend systems.

• Strong capabilities in relational and/or NoSQL databases.

• Solid foundation in software engineering, including problem solving, data structures, algorithms, design patterns, concurrency, agile methodologies, and best practices for sprint planning.

• Experience in coordinating release cycles, preparing release notes, and tracking development tasks and dependencies.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• High school diploma combined with 4 years of relevant work experience as an alternative educational pathway.

• Experience in the healthcare domain, such as PBM, NCPDP, or HIPAA.

• Previous experience in a hybrid role that encompasses software development and release/operations management.

• Familiarity with an Application and Performance Monitoring platform.

• Understanding of message queues and event-driven architectures, such as Pub/Sub and Kafka.

• Experience with SRE or DevOps practices, including incident management and root-cause analysis.
