Senior Software Engineer, Insurance Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to identify and extract property attributes utilizing regular expressions, large language models, or other methodologies.

• Contribute to the creation and upkeep of backend services by writing clean and well-tested code.

• Engage in code reviews and technical discussions.

• Complete clearly defined tasks and effectively communicate status and progress within the team.

• Acquire knowledge regarding the team's primary services and tools.

• Learn to navigate through microservices architecture and cloud infrastructure.

• Adhere to established patterns and frameworks while exercising engineering judgment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or four years of equivalent professional experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in software development.

• Strong proficiency in SQL, preferably with PostgreSQL.

• Experience in a production JVM language, ideally Scala.

• Familiarity with data science concepts, data labeling, or information extraction methodologies.

• Awareness of concepts and terminology related to property inspections, real estate assessments, or home condition reporting.

• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), event-driven systems (Kafka), cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), or CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience with Scala is a plus.

• Demonstrated ability to work with US-based business teams.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Must currently live in or be located within 150 km of Greater Delhi NCR, Greater Bangalore, or Greater Pune.

• Ability to work 8 hours daily, which includes 4 core US hours overlap (7:30 PM–11:30 PM IST) and 4 flexible IST hours.

• Access to a quiet workspace.

• Internet connection with a minimum of 30 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds.
