This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Provision and maintain cloud infrastructure utilizing Terraform and versioned shared modules.
• Manage and enhance Kubernetes (EKS) clusters, Helm charts, and Istio service-mesh configurations across various environments.
• Develop and uphold GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines that support trunk-based merges to the main branch.
• Assist in the provisioning and lifecycle management of cloud-hosted environments.
• Oversee secrets management using AWS Secrets Manager and enforce least-privilege IAM policies.
• Engage in infrastructure code reviews.
• Contribute to incident resolution and participate in infrastructure postmortem reviews.
• Create infrastructure documentation and disseminate knowledge to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Partake in an on-call rotation as necessary, which may include night and weekend coverage.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Terraform is preferred; knowledge of CloudFormation is also acceptable.
• Proficient understanding of Kubernetes and Helm for containerized workloads.
• At least 2 years of experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering.
• AWS certification is preferred.
• Kubernetes certification (CKA or CKAD) is preferred.
• Familiarity with Istio or other service mesh technologies.
• Experience with Aurora Postgres or other managed relational database services.
• Knowledge of EKS or other container orchestration platforms.
• Experience in authoring and maintaining reusable, versioned Terraform modules.
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Dynatrace, or Splunk.
• Experience in capacity planning and dynamic infrastructure scaling.
• Expertise in implementing rolling, blue/green, or canary deployment strategies.
• Experience managing infrastructure with a major cloud provider, preferably AWS.
• Proven experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools.
• Basic proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript for infrastructure tooling scripts.
• Strong troubleshooting capabilities, particularly with distributed systems and infrastructure dependencies.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Equivalent practical experience may be accepted in lieu of the specified bachelor’s degree.
