Senior Software Engineer II – Research & Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the creation and enhancement of superior software modules for the Cotiviti product suite.

• Maintain existing software applications and improve software components utilized in the Cotiviti product suite.

• Collaborate with senior developers, members of the offshore development team, business owners, project management, and internal stakeholders.

• Analyze and resolve intricate software challenges, including determining root causes from both internal and external customers.

• Document application specifications, designs, features, and operations prior to production deployment.

• Design and implement solutions that enhance performance and availability.

• Clearly communicate technical and operational challenges to engineering and business leadership with actionable recommendations.

• Ensure compliance with technology standards and propose new standards and practices.

• Investigate innovative enhancements to processes and systems.

• Identify and assess new technologies for integration into the Cotiviti product suite.

• Execute relevant components of the Cotiviti Software Development Lifecycle with a focus on continuous improvement.

• Mentor and support other engineers.

• Complete annual performance review objectives, special projects, and assigned responsibilities.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience.

• 5+ years of experience in the industry.

• 4+ years of experience with healthcare data.

• Proficiency in handling large datasets.

• 5+ years of experience with relational databases.

• 5+ years of experience with ETL processes.

• Experience in optimizing and tuning SQL/Oracle queries, stored procedures, and triggers.

• Advanced comprehension of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design.

• 5+ years of experience with MS Access.

• 5+ years of experience with scripting languages such as VBScript or PowerShell.

• Familiarity with one or more enterprise scheduling tools.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• 5+ years of experience with Java or Python.

• 5+ years of experience with third-party platforms like Appian and Cloudera Hadoop.

• 5+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server, HBASE, and Hive databases.

• 5+ years of experience with web services using Java/Spring Boot.

• Strong knowledge and application of SAFe agile practices is preferred.

• Must have a dedicated, secure workspace with reliable high-speed internet.
