Senior Software Engineer II – Catalog

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Develop and deliver catalog features from start to finish, encompassing API design, business logic, data models, and React UI.

• Utilize AI-enhanced SDLC tools like Claude Code for code generation, spec-to-code conversion, and automatic test creation.

• Engage in the catalog modernization initiative on the new technology stack alongside the current platform.

• Create and uphold automated tests.

• Evaluate pull requests, uphold coding standards, and enhance the shared golden path.

• Collaborate with product and design teams to refine specifications both prior to and during implementation.

• Equip services with logging, metrics, and alert systems.

• Participate in the on-call rotation and take ownership of incident response for catalog services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in shipping production code using AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor, with daily application in delivering functional software.

• Ability to contribute across backend, frontend, and data layers.

• Proven experience in owning features from specification through deployment, observability, and on-call responsibilities.

• Strong understanding of software design principles, automated testing, code review, and CI/CD practices.

• Proficient in backend development with one or more of C#/.NET, Go, Python, or Java; .NET/C# is the primary stack.

• Expertise in React or a comparable modern frontend framework.

• Experience with relational databases such as MS SQL Server or Postgres.

• Proficient in REST API design and microservices architecture.

• High level of precision and attention to detail.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• A minimum of 10+ years of experience in software engineering.

• A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is preferred, or a combination of education and equivalent work experience.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Experience with Google Business Suite is preferred.

• Capable of quickly identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving issues using sound judgment.

• Ability to assess when to escalate issues promptly.
