Senior Software Engineer, Identification

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage comprehensive fraud detection systems for Identification APIs.

• Design, construct, and enhance backend systems for real-time data processing and web services.

• Take ownership of SLIs and SLOs for Core API services, utilizing error budgets to maintain a balance between delivery and stability.

• Establish observability through metrics, structured logging, distributed tracing, and alerts.

• Engage in on-call rotation, address incidents, and facilitate blameless postmortems.

• Minimize operational toil by implementing automation and completing incident action items.

• Conduct capacity planning, load testing, and performance optimization.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on integrations.

• Provide mentorship to other engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in backend development, with significant time spent managing systems in production.

• Extensive experience with Go, scalable APIs, real-time data processing, and microservices.

• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, or CloudFormation.

• Proficient in observability tools such as Datadog.

• On-call experience managing live incidents and documenting resolutions.

• Strong SQL skills with experience in DynamoDB, Redis, or Elasticsearch.

• Proficient in Git, shell scripting, and CI/CD practices.

• Proficient in English.

• Ability to work independently in uncertain environments while engaging directly with stakeholders.

• Willingness to mentor junior engineers.

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

• Bonus: Experience with analytical storage systems, queueing and streaming systems, performance profiling, cost optimization, vector databases, ML-adjacent product engineering, concurrent programming, or internet security and privacy mechanisms.
