This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, develop, and maintain highly available, distributed payment orchestration services for omni-channel orders within Customer Order Management.
• Oversee payment workflows, which include authorization, fraud hold management, reverse authorization, billing, and refunds.
• Integrate IBM Sterling, the order system of record, with downstream payment processors and tender systems.
• Create resilient, event-driven microservices across GKE in Google Cloud and PCF/Cloud Foundry on-premises.
• Ensure precise payment state management, reliability in high-volume transactions, and observability across the ecosystem.
• Develop, test, deploy, and sustain software solutions.
• Create functional and destructive test suites to facilitate rapid production deployment.
• Collaborate with team members following agile methodologies.
• Work alongside the Product Team to ensure user stories are valuable, developer-ready, clear, and testable.
• Mentor junior engineers by providing guidance on modern software development frameworks and engaging in technical discussions.
• Troubleshoot and provide support for high-availability production systems.
• Must be at least eighteen years of age.
• Proven experience in building and maintaining distributed microservices in a production setting.
• Hands-on experience in developing backend microservices using Java and Spring Boot in a production environment.
• Background in designing and developing APIs and integrating with external enterprise systems.
• Experience with IBM Sterling OMS, including its configuration, customization, or integration.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and messaging technologies (e.g., Kafka, Google Pub/Sub, or IBM MQ).
• Experience in building and deploying applications within Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments, including containerized workloads on Kubernetes/GKE.
• Understanding of secure application development and data handling practices in transactional systems.
• Proven experience in troubleshooting and supporting high-availability systems within production environments.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a field related to the role.
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Preferred: Extensive experience in developing and supporting applications integrated with IBM Sterling OMS, including customization, configuration, and enterprise integrations.
• Preferred: Experience in designing and implementing microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and cloud-native application frameworks.
• Preferred: Experience with application monitoring, observability, and operational support using Grafana, log analytics platforms, and automated monitoring solutions.
• Preferred: Experience in creating scripts and automation for monitoring, alerting, operational diagnostics, and production support tasks.
• Preferred: Experience in troubleshooting distributed systems utilizing metrics, logs, dashboards, and tracing tools in large-scale production environments.
