Senior Software Engineer I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and execute software architecture for both current and upcoming products.

• Assess existing and new designs for accuracy, durability, quality, and long-term potential.

• Investigate and evaluate third-party software solutions and tools.

• Establish software development processes and coding standards.

• Design and build web-based systems utilizing Java EE technologies in a multi-tier architecture.

• Construct front-end elements, business logic, workflow logic, backend systems, and integration points.

• Develop user interfaces with JavaScript and web technologies, emphasizing usability, security, cross-browser compatibility, and performance.

• Determine operational feasibility through problem identification, requirements gathering, solution development, and proposal formulation.

• Create and implement new core functionalities.

• Adhere to coding standards, software development methodologies, and release protocols.

• Collaborate with Quality Assurance on functional, performance, and deployment challenges.

• Conduct technical root cause analysis and outline remediation steps.

• Engage in peer code reviews, offering insights and recommendations.

• Document and showcase solutions through documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear coding practices.

• Partner with QA, Project Management, Support, and other team members to meet customer objectives.

• Review product and application information for technical accuracy.

• Diagnose issues and ensure that solutions effectively address identified problems.

• Organize, set goals, manage time, and meet deadlines efficiently.

• Mentor junior Software Engineers.

• Act as a technical lead and guide others' work as necessary.

• Engage in multiple projects simultaneously.

• Attend training sessions and review relevant professional publications.

• Participate in professional networks and organizations.

• Carry out additional job-related responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma, secondary school, or equivalent educational qualifications.

• Over 5 years of professional experience with Java, Ruby, Objective-C, C#, C++, Python, PHP, or other object-oriented programming languages for database-driven web applications.

• Professional experience with relational databases such as Oracle or Postgres.

• Proficiency in SQL or PL/SQL.

• Experience in cross-browser client-side development using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.

• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks/libraries including Dojo, D3, Angular, Vue.js, React, jQuery, Backbone.js, or Ember.js.

• Proficient in using AJAX and JSON.

• Experience with Git/GitHub for source code version control and collaborative software development.

• Basic knowledge of SOAP and RESTful web services.

• Proven success in capturing and documenting software requirements.

• Experience managing project activities through collaboration with Software Engineers, Customer Support, Quality Assurance, and Project Management.

• Experience writing ad hoc SQL to troubleshoot customer application issues.

• Ability to work remotely within the United States.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience is preferred.

• Familiarity with clinical trial processes and medical informatics is preferred.
