Senior Software Engineer, Home Experience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop innovative products and features in partnership with product, design, and engineering teams.

• Work alongside a team of engineers to establish developer workflow standards and best practices.

• Guide and mentor engineers to enhance their technical skills.

• Take ownership of the entire development cycle for significant projects, including design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch.

• Write and review both code and design documentation.

• Provide constructive feedback on product specifications and mockups.

• Ensure the successful delivery of critical projects.

• Spearhead planning, development, and implementation across Reddit’s backend service architecture for both native mobile and web clients.

• Promote metrics-driven execution with an emphasis on operational excellence and system observability.

• Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to create product and engineering roadmaps.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience as a software engineer specializing in user-facing applications.

• Proficient in working with product metrics and designing and analyzing experiments, with familiarity with tools like BigQuery, HEX, and Firebase.

• Experience in software development using one or more general-purpose programming languages, such as Python, Go, Swift, Kotlin, Rust, or C#.

• Knowledge of utilizing GenAI tools to enhance software engineering productivity.

• Experience collaborating with ML engineering teams and integrating ML solutions is an advantage.

• Strong organizational abilities and capacity to decompose and prioritize tasks while maintaining project timelines.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Strong emphasis on user experience and usability; experience with social platforms is a significant advantage.

• Self-motivated, innovative, and results-oriented.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fully remote environment with both technical and non-technical audiences.
