Senior Software Engineer, GIS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop scalable, high-performance microservices and comprehensive geospatial applications for critical deployment settings.

• Design serverless solutions and RESTful APIs for geospatial data services.

• Implement and enhance CI/CD pipelines using infrastructure-as-code methodologies.

• Carry out integrations with enterprise GIS platforms and spatial data processing systems.

• Mentor team members, perform code reviews, and establish engineering best practices.

• Integrate security measures, multi-tenant isolation, and compliance controls into features from the design phase through deployment.

• Maintain responsibility for the health, quality, and progression of geospatial engineering deliverables.

• Spearhead the design and development of cloud-native geospatial applications for public safety and enterprise contexts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of experience in full-stack web application development.

• Expertise in TypeScript and contemporary frontend and backend frameworks.

• Practical experience with geospatial technologies such as Esri, MapLibre, Mapbox, or similar platforms.

• Familiarity with the AWS cloud platform and serverless architecture.

• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful API design principles.

• Experience with relational and spatial databases; PostgreSQL and PostGIS are preferred.

• Proficient in version control systems and agile development practices.

• AWS Developer Associate or AWS Cloud Practitioner certification is preferred.

• Knowledge of indoor mapping standards or public safety GIS workflows is preferred.

• Understanding of CI/CD automation and infrastructure-as-code techniques is preferred.
