Senior GIS Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver expert technical support for GIS applications, databases, and associated systems.

• Diagnose and resolve software, configuration, access, data, and user-related issues.

• Offer technical advice to users and project team members.

• Oversee technical activities and assist in ensuring that project requirements are met on time.

• Aid in software upgrades, system modifications, and application implementations.

• Create user manuals, troubleshooting protocols, and technical documentation.

• Collaborate with system administrators, developers, analysts, and client stakeholders to address issues.

• Provide direction and mentorship to other support staff as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, GIS, Information Systems, or a similar field.

• Extensive experience in delivering technical or application support.

• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

• Background in supporting GIS or other enterprise applications.

• Strong communication and customer service skills.

• Capability to meet relevant client access requirements.

• Advanced experience with Esri ArcGIS applications (preferred).

• Experience in supporting GIS databases or enterprise GIS environments (preferred).

• Prior experience as a technical lead or subject matter expert (preferred).

• Experience in developing technical documentation and user procedures (preferred).

• Familiarity with working alongside government or large enterprise clients (preferred).

• Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods.

• Proficient in typing and reading from a computer screen.

• Adequate mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling.

• Ability to walk moderate to long distances as necessary.

• Capability to lift up to 25 lbs.
