Senior Software Engineer, Fullstack – Card Acquisition

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• You will take charge of achieving and delivering quarterly objectives for your team, guiding engineers through uncertainty to address open-ended challenges, and ensuring that all team members receive support throughout the delivery process.

• Assist colleagues and stakeholders in the product development lifecycle by collaborating with product management, design, and analytics, engaging in brainstorming sessions, articulating technical limitations, and collaborating on decisions that appropriately weigh risks and trade-offs.

• Assume responsibility for your team’s operations and availability by ensuring that appropriate monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, policies, testing, and alerting are established to support ongoing operations and on-call responsibilities.

• Proactively recognize project, process, technology, or business challenges, advocate for solutions, and take the lead in resolving them.

• Support the operation and availability of your team’s resources by creating and tracking metrics, escalating issues when necessary, and contributing to ongoing operations and on-call responsibilities.

• Promote a culture of quality and accountability by establishing or enhancing code review and design standards for your team, and advocating for these standards beyond your team through documentation and technical presentations.

• Assist in developing talent within your team by offering feedback and guidance, and leading by example.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience as a software engineer.

• Experience leading significant mobile projects (React Native or native), including architectural definition, coordinating cross-functional launches, and ensuring high reliability in production environments.

• Proficiency in working across the React Native and native boundaries (Swift/Kotlin), troubleshooting platform-specific issues, and enhancing developer tooling, CI/CD, and release processes for mobile applications.

• Experience implementing experimentation, feature flagging, and analytics instrumentation in mobile applications to ensure safe rollouts and measurable impact.

• Experience shipping web applications using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue.

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript.

• Experience designing, developing, and launching scalable backend systems using technologies such as Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.

• Ability to define a technical plan for delivering a major feature or system component with a design that is elegant, simple, and extensible, while writing high-quality code that is easily understood and utilized by others.

• Adept at making significant modifications in a large codebase and have developed a suite of tools and practices that allow you and your team to do so safely.

• Demonstrates ownership of personal growth by proactively seeking feedback from your team, manager, and stakeholders.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills that facilitate effective collaboration with a global engineering team.

• This role requires either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
