Senior Software Engineer – Full Stack, Java/React

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as a highly autonomous contributor who can navigate complex systems and challenges with minimal oversight.

• Proactively identify requirements and functionalities from stakeholders, partners, and existing codebases when documentation is insufficient.

• Modernize and manage legacy applications, particularly older Java-based, JSP-templated monolithic MVP systems.

• Take ownership of application code contributions, focusing mainly on Java backend development.

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of related technical areas and ecosystems for effective integration coordination.

• Diagnose and resolve system issues, minimize technical debt, and enhance reliability.

• Mentor and support junior engineers.

• Communicate technical challenges and advancements with team members and clients.

• Engage in technical interviews.

• Suggest and assess multiple solutions to technical and process-related challenges.

• Present design documents and system diagrams to clients, stakeholders, partners, and engineers.

• Assist with scope, schedule, and delivery requirements with minimal leadership supervision.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and over 7 years of engineering experience.

• Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

• Expert-level proficiency and practical experience in backend engineering, particularly with Java.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently to decode complex legacy systems, such as JSP-templated monoliths, and address undocumented issues.

• Strong capability to proactively gather and define requirements in settings with limited initial instructions.

• Experience with frontend development utilizing React and JavaScript to support cross-functional team needs as required.
