Senior Software Engineer – Full Stack

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and manage production systems for both backend services and user-facing applications.

• Lead technically challenging projects related to merchant onboarding, analytics, recommendations, menu and order management, integrations, or tools for merchants.

• Convert unclear business and merchant challenges into scalable, practical technical solutions.

• Guide technical design and architectural choices with a focus on scalability, reliability, maintainability, and the long-term needs of the product.

• Take ownership of projects from initial discovery and design through implementation, deployment, production operations, and subsequent iterations.

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, operations, and engineers across various teams.

• Provide support and mentorship to engineers through design discussions, code reviews, knowledge sharing, and offering technical guidance.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to enhance engineering speed while ensuring correctness, security, maintainability, and quality.

• Operate across both frontend and backend domains to provide comprehensive end-to-end solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in designing, building, and operating production software at scale in backend, frontend, or fullstack environments.

• Proven experience in owning complex features, services, or technical initiatives from problem definition to production and ongoing operation.

• In-depth understanding of system design, APIs, databases, distributed systems, testing, observability, and production reliability.

• Experience in making technical and architectural decisions that involve significant trade-offs.

• Demonstrated history of mentoring engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, or knowledge sharing.

• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Familiarity with modern backend languages such as Go, Kotlin, or Java, and/or frontend technologies such as TypeScript and React.

• AI-first mindset and experience utilizing contemporary AI tools alongside sound engineering principles.

• Preferred experience with merchant-facing or internal operational tools, analytics, recommendations, decision-making systems, grocery, retail, restaurants, logistics, marketplace technology, external business-system integrations, Kafka, AWS, Kubernetes, or Docker.
