This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Design and enhance distributed systems and microservices.
• Create RAG-based knowledge bases and AI applications tailored for specialized departments.
• Develop features for voice, translation, and analytics.
• Construct high-performance APIs, model data and databases, and implement contemporary front-end solutions.
• Model data to support multi-tenancy and role-based access control.
• Integrate encryption, data minimization, and auditability from the beginning.
• Ensure visibility regarding the quality, costs, and behavior of AI features through assessments, monitoring, and guardrails.
• Continuously refine existing systems, establish clear structures, and mitigate technical debt.
• Collaborate with coding assistants and agents, testing and establishing new tools and workflows.
• Work in close collaboration with the Product Owner, UX, and consultants.
• Convert customer use cases into technical solutions.
• Communicate technical decisions with transparency.
• Mentor junior developers through code reviews and professional development support.
• Design architectures, review pull requests, and contribute to hands-on development.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in developing complex software systems.
• Preferably, experience in AI and/or SaaS/cloud environments.
• Proficient in TypeScript.
• Experience with Node.js, ideally including NestJS.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture for distributed systems, microservices, API design, and scalability.
• Frontend experience, such as with Vue.js, and a solid understanding of full-stack relationships.
• Comprehensive knowledge of databases, such as PostgreSQL, data modeling, and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, such as AWS, Docker, and operating SaaS applications.
• Extensive experience with coding assistants and agents, such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Copilot.
• Ability to critically evaluate generated code.
• Eagerness to actively explore new tools, models, and workflows.
• Understanding of modern AI/LLM concepts like RAG, function calling, embeddings, and agents.
• Familiarity with clean code practices, testing, and conducting code reviews.
• Capacity to clearly and persuasively explain technical decisions in both German and English.
• Experience with agentic setups, GDPR, ISO 27001, or the EU AI Act is considered a plus.
