Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack – Agentic Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Develop agents and automation solutions that enhance the usability of Distill across all facets of the product.

• Apply best practices related to observability, evaluations, and agent performance.

• Conduct experiments with agentic and harness engineering to identify potential automation opportunities.

• Collaborate daily with the in-house concierge team to comprehend workflows and convert them into dependable automation.

• Enhance the speed, accuracy, and usability of automated outreach.

• Take ownership of features from user discovery through to delivery.

• Integrate large language models (LLMs) and tool-calling agents into production environments.

• Create robust harnesses for LLM-based agents.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering, with a track record of end-to-end ownership of features or initiatives.

• Practical experience in building with LLMs in production, including the development of tool-calling agents.

• Experience in taking ownership of a product component, including engaging with users to determine development needs.

• Outstanding problem-solving abilities and a capacity to deliver quickly in a dynamic startup environment.

• Capability to work autonomously and manage a specific domain.

• Proficient in Node.js / TypeScript.

• Experience with Postgres in production (preferred).

• Background in developing outreach, automation, or internal tools (preferred).

• Familiarity with designing agent harnesses or evaluation frameworks tailored for LLM systems (preferred).

• Knowledge of prompt engineering and achieving consistent behavior from LLMs in production (preferred).
