Senior Software Engineer – Foodics ERP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Jordan.

📋 Description

• Develop and construct the fundamental accounting product, which encompasses general ledger, chart of accounts, journals, accounts payable/accounts receivable, reconciliation, and financial reporting.

• Take charge of integrations involving inventory, payments, POS transaction flows, and compliance with regulatory e-invoicing.

• Work across the full stack, engaging with schema, backend, and frontend components.

• Collaborate with a product manager and domain accountant to convert accounting requirements into system designs.

• Leverage AI tools to assess reference systems, generate and review code, and expedite the development process.

• Make initial architectural decisions and provide justification for them.

• Release products swiftly and test them with actual merchants.

• Construct a new accounting platform from scratch as one of the pioneering engineers on a small team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in developing production software, with significant exposure to accounting, ERP, or financial systems.

• Proficient understanding of double-entry accounting, period closing, and ledger systems.

• Strong skills in full-stack engineering.

• Capable of owning a feature from schema to interface.

• Regularly utilize AI agents and LLM tools, demonstrating discernment regarding their reliability and trustworthiness.

• Proven history of rapid product delivery in early-stage or greenfield environments.

• Ability to work primarily within GMT+3 hours.

• Commitment to accuracy in financially sensitive systems.

• Strong product instincts and the capacity to collaborate with a Product partner to shape products.

• Experience in building or managing a ledger, double-entry engine, or transaction-processing system at scale.

• Background in fintech, banking, payments, or financial services.

• Familiarity with ERP platforms such as ERPNext, Odoo, NetSuite, or SAP.

• Experience with ZATCA e-invoicing or similar regional tax and regulatory integrations.

• Experience in delivering AI-driven features.

• Proficiency in Arabic is a significant advantage.
