Senior Software Engineer – FinTech

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the technical design and execution of intricate FinTech and payment-oriented systems.

• Make key architectural choices and contribute to the establishment of engineering standards and practices.

• Develop and sustain APIs, integrations, services, and data systems.

• Design, code, review, debug, test, document, and deploy software.

• Address challenges related to payments, financial data, transactions, reconciliation, and third-party integrations.

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership to convert business requirements into technical solutions.

• Recognize technical risks and enhance reliability, scalability, security, and performance.

• Mentor and guide engineers through code reviews and technical advice.

• Understand user needs and prioritize them in the development process.

• Document and maintain comprehensive architecture for payment systems.

• Identify edge cases in payment systems that require special handling.

• Oversee payment regression-detection and uptime-monitoring systems.

• Transform sketches, wireframes, and mockups into operational web and mobile experiences.

• Deliver contemporary code for web and mobile applications.

• Collaborate with product and engineering team members effectively.

• Manage development workflows utilizing team tools.

• Communicate via Basecamp, Slack, and video conferencing.

• Incorporate feedback and execute with quality and efficiency in a dynamic environment.

• Produce tested, maintainable, and well-documented software using cutting-edge AI-driven techniques.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience in software engineering.

• Strong background in building and scaling production payment software.

• Profound knowledge of backend architecture, APIs, databases, and distributed systems.

• Experience in FinTech, payments, banking, financial services, or other transaction-intensive systems.

• Solid understanding of payment processes, transaction handling, webhooks, reconciliation, or financial integrations.

• Experience integrating with third-party APIs and services, such as payment processors, banks, or financial platforms.

• Strong expertise in TypeScript/Node.js, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, and modern cloud infrastructure.

• Comfortable working across the stack, including React/React Native.

• Strong architectural judgment and the capacity to make practical technical trade-offs.

• Excellent debugging and problem-solving abilities.

• Capable of operating with a high level of ownership and independence.

• Passionate about the entire product development process.

• Proven ability to utilize an iterative approach to maintain project momentum and consistently deliver valuable software.

• Ability to leverage AI tools while adhering to sound engineering principles.
