Senior Software Engineer, Email & Communications Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain full-stack functionalities within the email and communications platform.

• Create and enhance email delivery infrastructure, which includes sending frameworks, queue management, throttling, bounce handling, and optimizing deliverability.

• Develop and refine APIs, background services, and data pipelines using .NET.

• Build and sustain cloud-native services on Azure, encompassing Functions, Service Bus, Cosmos DB, SQL, and Blob Storage.

• Propel modernization initiatives by refactoring legacy code, transitioning to contemporary patterns, and enhancing observability and testability.

• Convert business needs into well-structured solutions alongside product teams and stakeholders.

• Engage in code reviews, technical design discussions, and incident response activities.

• Enhance system reliability, maintainability, and developer experience while rolling out new features.

• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and promote engineering excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5–7 years of professional experience in software engineering.

• Proficient in full-stack development, taking ownership of features from backend to frontend.

• Extensive experience with C#/.NET for APIs, services, and backend systems.

• Practical experience with Microsoft Azure services, including App Services, Functions, Service Bus, SQL, and Storage.

• Familiarity with high-volume email systems and principles of email deliverability, such as SPF/DKIM/DMARC, IP warming, bounce management, feedback loops, and monitoring deliverability.

• Strong SQL Server skills in writing efficient queries, designing schemas, and managing relational databases.

• Experience in navigating mature codebases and performing incremental modernization of legacy systems.

• Understanding of distributed systems, API design, testing methodologies, and CI/CD practices.

• Experience in developing modern frontend applications using React/Next.js.

• Knowledge of digital marketing, including campaign management, lead generation, marketing automation, or dealer/automotive marketing.

• Familiarity with message queue architectures and event-driven systems.

• Experience with email service providers such as SendGrid, Mailgun, or SparkPost.

• Background in working within a multi-tenant SaaS environment.

• Proficiency in both English and Spanish.

• Capability to work efficiently in onsite, remote, or hybrid settings utilizing video conferencing and collaboration tools.

• Professional on-camera presence and proactive communication skills.
