Senior Software Engineer – Decisioning

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Design and develop high-quality software systems that are both maintainable and scalable.

• Create impactful features utilizing Python and Django.

• Ensure stack reliability through advanced automated testing.

• Conduct high-level code reviews and address complex technical challenges.

• Collaborate with various teams to transform product visions into reality.

• Mentor emerging talent and establish standards for engineering excellence.

• Leverage AI-assisted development to enhance the software development lifecycle.

• Develop features and infrastructure for the decisioning (automated underwriting) team.

• Work across the backend stack using Python, Django, and PostgreSQL.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional software engineering experience.

• BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.

• Strong expertise in at least one modern programming language (Python, Java, Node.js).

• Proven experience in designing, building, and delivering scalable technical solutions from start to finish.

• Practical experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, CDK, or similar).

• Advanced SQL skills along with substantial hands-on experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle).

• Direct experience in building and deploying application containers using Docker and Kubernetes.

• Active involvement in code reviews, Pull Request workflows, and best practices in version control (GitHub, Bitbucket, or Azure DevOps).

• Demonstrated success in mentoring junior developers, fostering technical alignment, and promoting engineering growth.

• Solutions-oriented mindset with a strong sense of initiative, accountability, and communication skills in collaborative team settings.

• Capability to effectively partner across cross-functional teams to tackle complex issues and deliver high-quality features.
