Senior Software Engineer – Cranial Navigation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Create applications for image-guided surgery focused on cranial, ENT, and CMF procedures.

• Engage in the software development lifecycle from the conceptual stage to the final product rollout.

• Design, develop, and maintain software components and applications using C++, JavaScript, and HTML5/React.

• Collaborate with application engineers to implement human-machine interfaces in conjunction with clinical and usability experts.

• Partner with software engineering specialists to design, specify, and build flexible, efficient, and sustainable software architectures.

• Employ AI language models and either maintain or create agents to enhance productivity and code quality.

• Work across user interfaces, 3D rendering, specialized 3D geometric algorithms, and software architectures.

• Collaborate with hardware, software, and clinical application engineers within a multidisciplinary team.

• Integrate software with surgical microscopes, ultrasound devices, robotic arms, and intraoperative CT/MR scanners.

• Potentially engage in joint coding efforts with Brainlab's partners.

⛳️ Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Visualization, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.

• Strong foundation in object-oriented programming.

• Proficient in C++ as the main programming language.

• Ideally experienced with C#, JavaScript, and HTML5, especially JavaScript React.

• Familiarity with AI models for daily tasks and agents for more complex assignments is advantageous.

• Experience in medical imaging, DICOM, 3D visualization, network communication, or robotics is beneficial but not essential.

• Proficient in English.

• Willingness to learn German.

• Strong communication skills to interact with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and specialties worldwide.
