Senior Software Engineer – Compliance, Production Support

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide support for compliance validation under the Endangered Species Act Section 7 from a software development standpoint, ensuring the accuracy of decision logic, completeness of template content, and precision in consultation routing.

• Design and maintain application-layer components of the production migration runbook, outlining deployment sequences, verification processes, and rollback strategies.

• Lead the resolution of critical and high-severity application defects identified during testing phases, pilot consultations, and government demonstrations.

• Assist in the post-deployment monitoring of system availability, the accuracy of species lists, performance of logic, and any issues reported by users.

• Integrate live feedback from consultations into system updates throughout the production phase.

• Participate in the creation of the Production Deployment Report, documenting deployment results and findings from post-deployment monitoring.

• Aid in the development of Final Operational Playbooks by documenting operational procedures and maintenance workflows at the application layer.

• Ensure adherence to code review protocols and maintain code within the version-controlled repository.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree with 8 years of professional experience, a Master's degree with 6 years of professional experience, an Associate's degree with 10 years of professional experience, or a high school diploma/equivalent with 12 years of professional experience.

• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.

• Capability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

• Extensive experience in supporting compliance validation activities within federal regulatory systems.

• Proven experience in developing and executing production migration runbooks and rollback procedures.

• Familiarity with REST API integration and application-layer monitoring for production federal systems.

• Strong skills in defect remediation and root cause analysis.

• Proficiency in Java, Python, or similar backend development languages.
