This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Take charge of the architecture, development, and management of scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant cloud services.
• Propel technical design and architectural choices for distributed systems.
• Lead intricate initiatives from conception through deployment and continuous optimization.
• Construct and scale cloud infrastructure utilizing Terraform, Helm, and Kubernetes.
• Enhance cloud security and compliance practices through secure design, IAM controls, and encryption.
• Boost system observability and operational excellence with monitoring, alerting, and incident response strategies.
• Advance DevOps maturity by refining CI/CD pipelines and deployment methodologies.
• Partner with engineering, product, and security teams to tackle complex system-level challenges.
• Mentor and direct engineers in technical guidance, code reviews, and skill enhancement.
• Assess and integrate technologies to enhance performance, scalability, and developer efficiency.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 6–8+ years of software engineering experience, primarily focusing on cloud infrastructure and distributed systems.
• Capacity to independently design, build, and manage production-grade systems at scale.
• Strong expertise in Go, Python, or similar languages, with experience in building distributed services.
• In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Helm).
• Extensive experience with AWS services (EKS, EC2, RDS, S3, SQS, IAM), including the design and operation of systems in production.
• Proven ownership of systems, including on-call duties, incident response, and long-term reliability enhancements.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and skill in navigating ambiguous, complex technical challenges.
• Strong communication skills with the capability to influence technical decisions across teams.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
• Preferred: expertise in cloud security best practices, including identity management, encryption, and compliance frameworks.
• Preferred: experience in designing and scaling high-availability distributed systems with automated failover and self-healing functionalities.
• Preferred: strong understanding of observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
• Preferred: experience with event-driven architectures and microservices.
• Preferred: familiarity with HashiCorp ecosystem tools (Vault, Consul, Packer).
• Preferred: involvement in or defining engineering standards, patterns, or platform strategy.
