This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy.
• Design, implement, and manage Kubernetes environments, especially Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), encompassing cluster lifecycle, upgrades, networking, autoscaling, security, and workload management.
• Establish and uphold GitOps workflows utilizing tools like Argo CD or Flux, with Git serving as the authoritative source for declarative infrastructure and application configurations.
• Containerize applications using Docker and set standards for building, scanning, and publishing images, including through Azure Container Registry.
• Create and maintain Helm charts to ensure consistent packaging and releasing of applications across various environments.
• Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines that facilitate rapid, secure, and repeatable software delivery, incorporating automated testing and security verifications.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configurations through Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Ansible.
• Collaborate with software engineering teams to design and manage Azure cloud infrastructure and services, adhering to best practices for scalability, performance, and security.
• Implement observability mechanisms through metrics, logs, and alerting; oversee performance, resource utilization, and cost-effectiveness.
• Enforce security measures including RBAC, secrets management, network policies, image security, and supply-chain security.
• Define and uphold backup and disaster recovery plans for both platform and stateful services.
• Diagnose and resolve infrastructure and application challenges to maintain high availability and reliability.
• Administer Linux and Windows servers while progressively transitioning workloads toward automated and containerized solutions.
• Keep abreast of advancements in Azure and the cloud-native ecosystem, recommending and executing enhancements.
• Over 3 years of experience managing cloud environments, with a preference for Azure.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production settings, particularly with AKS.
• Strong understanding of Git and version control workflows, including branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews, and GitOps methodologies.
• Proficient in Docker and best practices for containerization.
• Experience with Helm for packaging and deploying applications.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience in building CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Competent scripting abilities, especially in PowerShell.
• Solid grasp of networking principles, cloud security, and best practices for cloud-native architecture.
• Working knowledge of Linux and Windows server administration.
• Good understanding of backup and disaster recovery methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities and proficiency in troubleshooting intricate technical issues.
• A positive demeanor, collaborative spirit, and exceptional communication skills.
• Proficient in English, including reading, writing, and conversational speaking.
• Kubernetes certifications (CKA/CKAD) or Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-400, AZ-305) are advantageous.
• Experience with GitOps tools such as Argo CD, Flux, and Kustomize is a plus.
• Familiarity with observability stacks like Prometheus, Grafana, and Azure Monitor is desirable.
• Experience in DevSecOps practices, including image scanning, policy as code, Kyverno/OPA, and Azure Policy, is a plus.
• Experience managing RabbitMQ clusters is a bonus.
• Experience managing Redis is a bonus.
