Senior Software Engineer, Backend – Institutional, Exchange

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop, construct, and sustain high-throughput, low-latency APIs and backend services for order entry, market data, trade execution, and real-time trading processes.

• Take ownership of services from start to finish, encompassing technical design, implementation, deployment, observability, scaling, production support, and participation in on-call rotations.

• Enhance the performance, reliability, and operational readiness of distributed systems.

• Collaborate with Product, SRE, Security, and various engineering teams to convert customer and business needs into technical solutions.

• Promote engineering excellence through design reviews, code reviews, thoroughly tested code, and mentorship.

⛳️ Requirements

• More than 5 years of experience in building and operating production backend or distributed systems using Java, Go, or a similar backend language.

• Proven experience in designing and scaling high-volume, performance-sensitive services.

• Proficiency in concurrency, event-driven architecture, reliability, and performance optimization.

• Familiarity with real-time or financial systems, including FIX, Aeron, Kafka, or other relevant experience.

• Experience in constructing customer-facing APIs utilizing FIX, REST, WebSocket, or analogous protocols.

• Skilled in operating services within cloud and Kubernetes-based environments.

• Knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL.

• Competence in event-driven or streaming data systems.

• Responsible application of generative AI with human oversight.
